Ultra-high Molecular Weight Polyethylene Film

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is an unbranched linear polyethylene with a molecular weight of more than 1.5 million. Molecular formula: -(-CH2-CH2-)-n-, density: 0.920～0.964g/cm3. Heat deformation temperature (0.46MPa) 85℃, melting point 130～136℃.

It is widely used in rubber tubes, conveyor belts, transmission belts, foot pads, foot stickers, insulating materials, wear-resistant gaskets, furniture foot pads, slides, wear-resistant panels, packaging materials and other occasions and products.

UHMWPE has a molecular weight of 3 to 6 million, while HDPE resin has only 300,000 to 500,000. This difference ensures that UHMWPE has sufficient strength to achieve wear and impact resistance that other low-grade polymer products cannot have. The ultra-high molecular weight of UHMWPE means that it will not melt and flow like a liquid, so the processing method is derived from powder metal technology. Traditional plastic processing technologies, such as injection molding, blow molding and heat setting, cannot be applied to UHMWPE. Extrusion molding is the most common processing technology applied to this resin, and the products produced in this way are more resilient.
It almost concentrates the advantages of various plastics, and has the comprehensive properties of wear resistance, impact resistance, self-lubrication, corrosion resistance, impact energy absorption, low temperature resistance, sanitation and non-toxicity, non-adhesion, non-water absorption, and low density that ordinary polyethylene and other engineering plastics cannot match. In fact, there is no pure polymer material + with so many excellent properties.
