PET release film is also called PET silicone film, which is a layer of silicone oil applied on the surface of PET film to reduce the adhesion of the surface of PET film and achieve the release effect. It can be divided into single-sided release film and double-sided release film. According to the release force, it can be divided into light release film, medium release film and heavy release film.
Instruments and steps required for release film release force test

Take TESA 7475 tape with a width of 25.4mm and a length of 200mm and stick it on the test surface (release surface) of the film and roll it back and forth 3 times with a standard rolling roller. Note: Roll while sticking the tape completely to avoid bubbles between the tape and the release film.
Leave the tape to rest for 20 minutes. The temperature and humidity in the laboratory should be controlled at 25±3℃ and 50±10% respectively.


Use double-sided tape to stick to the non-test surface of the sample and fix it on the standard steel plate for testing
Install the material on the fixture and use the peel tester to stretch the test tape at an angle of 180°. The data displayed on the computer is the release force (g/in) of the test piece. The average of the five values is the test result.

Difficulties and solutions for die-cutting release films
1. After the double-sided adhesive touches the PET release film, part of the double-sided adhesive will separate in the reverse direction, and an abnormal sound will be generated during separation.
Solution: There is noise during separation. First, the release force is too large, and second, it is the result of uneven adhesive adjustment.
2. Reverse separation means that the material to be peeled off is not separated.
Solution: Anti-separation is mainly caused by the unsatisfactory matching of release force. There are two reasons. First, the release film is not strictly inspected at the factory, the inspection equipment is incomplete, and the production process is unstable, which makes the release force of the same model and specification products vary greatly. As a result, the die-cutting factory uses the release film that they think is the release force. Second, the release layer is not resistant to aging and changes greatly over time.
