It has high mechanical strength

It has high mechanical strength, and its tensile strength is about 5 to 10 times that of polyethylene. Therefore, 12 μm PET film has been widely used, and 9 μm ultra-thin PET film has also begun to be used. In addition, polyester film also has the advantages of high stiffness and strong impact resistance.

Good heat resistance

The melting point is 260°C and the softening point is 230~240°C. Even if the biaxial stretching process is used, its thermal shrinkage rate is still very small at high temperatures. It has extremely excellent dimensional stability and its performance will not be affected by long-term heating at high temperatures.

Introduction

Polyester, formerly known as polyethylene terephthalate, or PET for short, uses polyethylene terephthalate obtained by the condensation of dimethyl terephthalate, which is the esterification of ethylene glycol and terephthalate, as raw material. It is made into thick sheets by extrusion, and then combined with the biaxial stretching process to form a film. PET is a film with very good transparency and gloss. It has good heat resistance, so it is often used as the printing layer of retort bags.
